Sunlit is an amazingly chill social hostel. Everybody just keeps extending their stay because its so good. For us Sunlit was the best and most social hostel we stayed in during our 6mth travel. The vibe is just incredible. Outsiders came to hang out and people who stayed there before kept coming back for pool or drinks. The self service bar gives a vibe of mutual trust and made us feel at home. It's not a party hostel - quiet time after 2300 - but a very chill place to hang out. There is enough space to be on your own, work, read a book or sleep 'cause you're tired from surf. They have spacious privates and comfy dorms with curtains, lockers, personal light, ac, etc. The showers have warm water and strong pressure and bathrooms are cleaned on a daily base. Outside there is a rooftopped space with lines for laundry. The staff is super helpful, invested and they feel part of the group of friends we made. Upstairs there is an open spaced rooftop chillout (with roof) where you can play darts, ping-pong and pool and there is a self service bar and sound system. They have a projector for movies (currently being replaced), a firepit and beanbags to chill. Downstairs is a clean kitchen with good and usable inventory, a fridge and room for storage of food. Also there is a big table where people can eat together. Directly opposite the hostel is a vegan/veggie restaurant, perfect for breakfast and lunch. You do need a scooter to get around, but I think that's convenient anyways, wherever you stay on the island.

Right off the bat, the hostel’s location really offers peace and quiet, which I prioritize every time I book a place. I also appreciate the proactiveness of the staff (thanks Via!) in offering me a van transfer from the airport to the hostel since I didn’t book any transfer yet prior to my trip. I was greeted with a warm smile by CJ in the reception area and was given detailed explanation of the hostel’s amenities, available activities for guests, and hostel rules. Also, there are signages available everywhere to remind you of the rules; so no reason for you to forget those! On the second floor, you can do various activities like table tennis, billiards, or just chill on their bean bags while enjoying a bottle of beer or soda from their mini bar. The bunk where I slept was also comfortable, with AC working perfectly to get a good night sleep after a day of basking under the sun. The restroom is always clean and stocked with tissue papers and bidets (with good pressure). Also, big thanks to Via for taking me to Catangnan Bridge! One of the best sunsets i’ve seen so far. Overall, Sunlit Hostel and its staff have made my birthday week in Siargao a well-spent and memorable trip. Thank you!

We stayed in this hostel for one week as a couple in a private room. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. There is a great vibe in the hostel with plenty of facilities such as a bar, pool table, ping pong etc. the introduced there new pool the week we stayed and we both agreed it was one of the nicest pools we have been in while travelling south east Asia, clean and with a fun basketball hoop! As there was kitchen facilities with an electric hob, we were able to try save some money by cooking our breakfast at the hostel each morning. This was really helpful while budget travelling. The property was a quick 5 minute scooter ride to Cloud 9 and General luna. For us it was necessary to rent a scooter but the location was not an issue for us as we knew of the location when booking our stay. Lastly the staff were all so friendly, the bathroom was kept clean and the hostel provided free drinking water.

Really enjoyed my stay here! The staff were all helpful and friendly. Quiet and peaceful tucked away from the busyness of the main tourism road area but close enough to the action. There’s a nice restaurant across the hostel perfect for brunch/lunch. If you don’t rent a motorbike, tuktuks frequently passed by the end of the road. Great WiFi connection and the solar panels worked well while other businesses in the area were impacted by the power interruptions that tend to happen on the island. A perfect balance between being a social and chill hostel - in the day, you’ll find guests working remotely or playing ping pong on the roof & in the evening, many people are playing pool, darts, ping pong, hanging out and drinking on the roof. Newly renovated bathrooms that the staff frequently clean were nice too.

I recently stayed at Sunlit Hostel and had a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. The internet was impressively fast, which made it easy to stay connected and get some work done. There were so many activities and things to do, both within the hostel and in the surrounding area, that I was never bored. From organized tours to social events, there was always something happening. The hostel offers great value for money, with clean and comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The common areas were well-maintained and provided a great space to meet other travelers. Overall, I highly recommend Sunlit Hostel for anyone looking for a friendly, fun, and affordable place to stay. I will definitely be coming back on my next trip!
